Barnsley Museums, Galleries & Country Parks: Educational Visits

https://i0.wp.com/www.barnsley-museums.com/Content/images/content/gallery/desktop-low-res/1395-635276402228116371.jpgBarnsley Museums consist of 5 sites – Cooper Art Gallery, Experience Barnsley Museum & Discovery Centre, Worsbrough Country Museum & Country Park, Cannon Hall Museum Park & Gardens and Elsecar Heritage Centre.

For the 2013/2014 academic year, we are offering 30 different sessions/workshops which align with the national curriculum across 5 of our sites. Each half day workshop costs £5 per pupil and self-led sessions are free. We can provide health and safety guidelines to help with risk assessments. You can also visit two sites in one day and in most cases we can adapt the sessions to fit with your timetable. If you book 3 sessions for your class within the same academic year, we will not charge you for your third visit. Also, coach subsidy is available for Barnsley schools. Please contact us for further details.

Currently, we are also reviewing our learning offer to meet the new national curriculum needs. We welcome headteachers, teachers, teaching assistants and any interested school staff to join our quarterly Teachers’ Panels (next one is on Thursday 20 March 5-6.15pm at Experience Barnsley Museum). Please contact us to book a place.

We also have quarterly drop-in sessions at the Experience Barnsley Museum showcasing our current work/exhibition, current learning programme on offer and meet the Learning team. The next one is on Thursday 27 March 4-6pm (drop-in at Experience Barnsley Museum).

For further enquiries and booking, please contact learning@barnsley.gov.uk or ring Sheauran Tan (Ran) Learning Co-ordinator 07738852703.
