YHA’s commitment to providing exemplary learning experiences for children and young people has been nationally recognised by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC).
Twenty-five Youth Hostels in England and Wales have been awarded the prestigious LOtC Quality Badge. The Youth Hostels Association is now working to have the accreditation extended across its network of School Trip sites.
The badge highlights the accredited hostels’ commitment to ensuring quality and safety and that their learning is curriculum linked.
Caroline White, Chief Executive of YHA (England and Wales), commented: “YHA has been creating learning outside the classroom since we started more than 80 years ago and, because of our Breaks for Kids bursary fund, financial circumstances don’t stop young people benefiting from these brilliant opportunities. We’re proud that the LOtC Quality Badge recognises our commitment to the development of children and young people.”
