Exploring Nature on Your Doorstep: Free Booklet from Wild About Plants

A new booklet which provides ideas for schools’ outdoor learning programmes in urban parks is now available to download for FREE from www.wildaboutplants.org.uk/resources

In September 2010, Plantlife launched a two year Local Schools Partnership initiative as part of their Wild About Plants project in association with Sefton Borough Council (Parks and Green Spaces) and primary schools in Sefton, Merseyside. The initiative linked schools to local parks and provides school-based and family learning opportunities throughout the year. Ten schools were involved in the project.

A booklet with useful ideas and information based on the project, suitable for teachers, rangers and those interested in outdoor learning in urban areas is now available to download via the link above.

In 2013 Plantlife is planning to run workshops around learning in urban parks. If you would like more information about the Local School Partnerships programme or are interested in booking training workshops then please contact Felicity Harris by email at felicity.harris@plantlife.org.uk.
