Kingswood Dearne Valley Centre Now Open

Kingswood’s new activity centre at Dearne Valley is now open.

It is located right next to Conisbrough railway station making travel by train a viable option for some groups.

Barnsley secondary school age groups can access a discount, normally available at the Kingswood Peak Venture Centre, of £22 per night for the current academic year, for visits to this centre.

It is situated in an established parkland setting, which was previously used as the Earth Centre. The centre will initially accommodate 400 pupils in new-build accommodation and has a range of facilities, including wind and solar power, waste water harvesting, biodiversity, recycling and new ICT labs – all of which will give students the chance to gain hands-on experience.

Young people will have access to a wide range of activities including the on-site adventure park, which incorporates a high ropes course, and low height initiative exercises, as well as having access to a large indoor sports hall. After dark there is a choice of evening activities, including indoor and outdoor amphitheatres and performing arts facilities.
